(animal) prints and the revolution

i have never been much of an animal print fan. however, i am seeing some wonderful, bad ass new ways to incorporate this trend into my wardrobe. these are three looks i CERTAINLY don't mind. how do you rock the animal print?

tired of toning it up- adDRESSing the issue

i have been looking at a whole lot of blogs lately and have been feeling perplexed, and (dare i say) dowdy. let me explain. many of these fashion blogs feature the writer in photographs where they dress up in these sometimes extravagent, sometimes sexy, sometimes skanky but always dressy outfits. it leaves me wondering "where are they going?" do i not have enough of a life since i don't have somewhere to go where i am required to dress up ALL the time? see, i firmly believe in always looking good. however, i don't always feel the need to ALWAYS dress up. its too much! cute tees with a pair of jeans and flats can look great with the right accessories. hell, i have been known to make sweatpants look good. in nyc, it is bone-chilling cold outside. so, i chose to stay home with the hubby. i chose a look that said cute yet relaxed.
i love great clothes, i adore great style. but, i do dress down from time to time and would appreciate that fact being acknowledged and addressed. tell me you don't enjoy pics of your favorite celeb dressing normal to pick up his/her latte from starbucks. they still look cute, maybe even cuter! therefore, i intend to post pics (hopefully, at least once a week) of people (maybe famous, maybe not) in dressed down gear.

i guess this is my rant about being tired of toning it up. besos, jenna pearle

these boots were made for...me!

i have fallen hard for these chuck taylor boots. this is certainly a perfect addition to any stylish winter wardrobe. while walking in the winter wonderland, you won't look like an idiot, slipping and sliding all over the place. not a good look!

adorn thy neck...

wu-tang proclaimed we must "protect ya neck." i have chosen to adorn it, instead. what a pefect way to jazz up a plain lbd. also, isn't it a clever method for dressing up a tee and jeans? i know, just like me, you're tired of toning it down...xoxo jenna pearle

tune in...peg bundy

who worshipped the legging long before everyone else jumped on board? who was rocking the high beehive hair waaaaaay before you ever even heard of a ms. winehouse? who was a hot desperate housewife sans cooking & cleaning ages before eva longoria? survey says...peggy bundy, the real deal! the faux housewife of chicago shimmied into our hearts and households in the late eighties, teaching us how to redefine the role of the wife. here are a few lessons from the queen p. take notes:
*dress sexy even if your plans only involved general hospital on the couch.
*leopard print is nothing to fear
*embrace and then show off all curves
*most important, it is okay to be vocal (even demanding) about your sexual needs. no need to be coy.
i heart u so much, peggy bundy. we owe you. i salute you for being tired of toning it down...

stay tuned...victory ford

one of THE most impeccably dressed women to grace television was hands down victory ford. who's that, you ask? victory ford was the adorable clothing designer on the addictive show, lipstick jungle. unfortunately, the show has since been cancelled. however, the memory of stylish outfits stays with me. but...back to ms. ford!
victory ford was portrayed by lindsay price, who had the perfect physical presence to bring all the ensembles to life. petite, too cute for description, and still accessible. most often, victory was adorned in shift dresses, tight pencil skirts, a-line cutesy dresses and beautiful coats. every once in a while, she could be found lounging in jeans (still styled to a tee). ford was fearless with her colors (fuschias, emerald greens, royal blues). she was able to be business appropriate (her business being fashion) without looking too severe or boring. although a part of a fab cast, ms. ford was victorious in standing out in the crowd. pink pearl to one of the best dressed characters on a short lived show, the vivacious victory ford
its a jungle out there...xo xo jenna pearle
