mecca

i'll be heading to my mecca again today...also known as barnes & nobles. these are the two books i plan on purchasing. "the carrie diaries" is out. i was not a fan of "sex n the city" the book. candace bushnell's writing is...different. some things i like...some things i don't. just finished reading "One 5th Ave" during my florida stint and it kept me entertained. i also enjoyed "lipstick jungle" i look forward to the carrie diaries because 1. duh, its carrie bradshaw! and 2. i love the 80's. i am also very into young adult novels since i'm an expert on the subject (says me) and plan to write my own one day (wish me luck). anyway, i'll let you know how it goes.

(btw, i am just finishing up the gossip girl prequel "it had to be you" and loving it.)

the second book "how to never look fat again" is one i saw on wendy. the author was on giving tips from the book on obviously how not to look fat. there was a before and after fashion show and i was impressed. although i am not against people looking fat perse, i am interested in how to choose the most flattering clothing and make-up. as my body changes, its something that i'm forced to deal with. no longer can i wear any and everything, it seems (wiping away a tear). anyway, we shall see if charla k. has the magic formula.

golden white

did you catch betty white on snl last saturday?! freakin' hilarious!!! betty white is the bee's knees and has been long before this new popularity surge. although i didn't see much of her in the mary tyler moore show (too young), i remember the golden girls on saturday evenings when i was growing up. later on in college, my roomie and i bonded over golden episodes. we used the song "thank you for..." as the theme for our friendship and secret sorrority. we ate cheesecake at ungodly hours. (good times, hey dani, hey ty) and betty white was an integral part of that time. since then, i've seen her play in several shows (like malcolm in the middle) and be funnier than i remembered. and who hasn't seen her commercials for animal non-profits? betty's no dummy (despite her rose nylon character). she knows how to bring in the dough...and the laughs.

what do you think of these shoes??? cute, right? i thought so too so i bought them. hoping they'll arrive soon. i like that they're neutral (cognac) with the lace strap detailing. but, what i love most is the appearance of the heel. its only 2 inches at the most but it does the job. hope they're comfortable...

i am in search of a great fitting, great looking white blazer. here is janet jackson in one i wouldn't mind owning. my ideal white blazer, though, would have a peplum look at the bottom, have just the right amount of stretch and have a sleek, classic look to it. something nice to say about donatella? her dress is cute.

you may have realized how much i'm obsessed about my show, gossip girl. i always mention my two fave characters, blair and chuck. even serena, jenny and vanessa get a little attention. however, i have neglected poor nate archibald, poor, exquisitely gorgeous nate archibald. look at the face...what a handsome man! so although his character is a bit blah on the show, i recognize and celebrate true beauty when i see it.

OMG, mrs. obama, you are HAWTT!! here is America's magnificent first lady at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner last night. i can't believe how radiant and gorgeous she is! graceful and gracious, mrs. obama held her own. i am SO proud of these two.
