I'M BACK!!!! and so is Jersey Shore, apparently. i haven't gotten a chance to watch this show at all but i am fully aware that these kids are back with a new season (in miami) tonight. in honor of that, i thought i'd give you the gift of snookie looking pretty cute in a black and white shot. i'm glad to be back with you guys. time to have fun w fashion!

summer lovin'

hi guys! i know that i've been slacking on the posting lately but its for good reason. well, I think they're good reasons. first, i've been taking some courses at f.i.t. its been an amazing experience and is truly giving clarity to my dreams. second reason is that i've been going on a few road trips. in fact, i'll be heading out tomorrow to the south. atl, baby! last but not least, i have been truly enjoying summer, my favorite season of the year. you should be doing the same.

this is a a great (although the usual) look for ms. stefani. in addition, this is also my go to look lately, especially when i'm going out. i'm all about the loose fitting tops (in black, grey and/or white), black leggings and hot heels. the red lip with black eyeliner is also at the top of my list. therefore, you can call this my inspiration look. rock n roll tough chick chic. stop drooling!

i remember this album cover vividly in the living room of my old brooklyn apartment in front of the wall unit that held the record player/eight track. chaka khan has been doing it big for years, decades! here we definitely have a candidate for "tired of toning it down." chaka's talent and voice is undeniable. this red ensemble makes her look vibrant and happy, as does that big ol' grin.

well, we've come to the end of the line with the world cup. ghana was my team for many reasons.

1. they were just so damn good.



2. they were just so damn beautiful (did you check the cheekbones and skintone?!)



3. i have ties to ghana (although roundabout)



4. the only african country left in the finals
   

anyhow, if you saw the match, then you already know they were robbed. thats okay; i'm over it and just want to congratulate them on the wonderful job they did. since i am of dutch descent, holland is the new team to back in the final game.

btw, i saw you, cristian ronaldo, out there looking good. i'll be sure to post a pic later so the rest of you can appreciate the beauty. yr welcome!

the teen vogue handbook...an insider's guide to careers in fashion

i just borrowed this book from the library yesterday and i must say, i am IMPRESSED! see, i didn't have high expectations since i am no teenager (apparently, based on the title, the chosen dempgraphic). but surprisingly, this book is chock full of great information for ANYONE who is interested in a fashion career. it gives useful tips and first hand accounts straight from the mouths of those in the industry. teen vogue handbook also tries to hit on a diverse group from several different aspects of fashion. fashion stylist, editor, blogger, photographer and so much more. and did i mention the graphics?! well, they are lovely colored and clear photographs (many from past issues of teen vogue), fantastic sidebars and quotes. when i return this book to the library, i will be headed straight to my mecca (b&n) to pick up my own copy.
